Packages
Packages
Use Package to reuse the same duration, media, connection, resolution, and CDN policy across multiple playback Users.
Sidebar Actions
| Action | When to Use | How to Use |
|---|---|---|
| Manage Packages | Review existing policy, pricing metadata, assigned media, or limits before changing multiple Users. | Open Package → Manage Packages, select Settings, and check dependent Users before saving a shared change. |
| Add Package | Create a reusable customer access policy. | Open Package → Add Package, set its name, price, duration, Bouquets, maximum connections, maximum Stream resolution, and CDN servers, then save. |
Package or Custom Access?
- use a Package when multiple Users should inherit the same policy;
- use Custom User access only for an exception that should not change with a Package.
After saving, create or update a test User and confirm effective expiration, media access, connections, resolution, CDN selection, and playback. See Users, Packages, and Playback Access.
User Package Actions
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Add Package | Assigns the Package, charges its price to a non-administrator owner, and starts expiration from the current UTC time |
| Renew Package | Charges the Package price and extends from the later of the current expiration or current UTC time |
| Change Package | Converts remaining time by the old and new Package hourly credit rates |
| Cancel Package | Ends access immediately, removes the Package, and returns the remaining calculated credits to a non-administrator owner |
Review the displayed Package, expiration, and owner credits before confirming. A custom-access User does not use Package actions.
